July24, 2013

Another night of honey extracting. We were up until one. But, the honey is done and we had a good harvest: 12 gallons. Already Alicia plans to use that as her theme for her baby shower.

Honey extraction

We were up until two this morning doing honey extraction. We have two supers done and two more to go. Jasmine was going to a movie with Austin but it looks like his parents cancelled it.

Second week

Well, I have't had a working computer and so I'm way late getting the family newsletter out. But at least I can diligently plod along at blogging. Kelly is out working on the bees before heading off to work. So I was going to weed the garden. It really needs it. But I have to stay inside until the bees calm down. I have a full barrel of yard waste from trimming the hateful palms on Saturday before Ariana's birthday party. She was a happy little girl with a foam crown Alicia bought her and wanted people to sing happy birthday. We ended up singing three time in a row so I guess that fulfilled that request.

I am going to attempt to trim and weed in the front yard before it gets any hotter. We still have the new window in chipboard in front of our big picture window so I can't look out. Kelly spent Saturday helping Jason with his lawn mower so he didn't get his own work done.

Good dad. I hope Jason recognizes what an expression of love that sacrifice was.

First note ever

In sacrament meeting Lisa Brower said she has found blogging to be her most effective form of journaling. So I decided to give it a try. I used to be a diligent journal- keeper until John decided to get into my journal, read what it said and tell me I needed to be uplifting. I guess I wrote more stream of conscious than thoughtful history. It discouraged me enough that I have not written more than sporadically since. So I am going to try to put a little something on here more regularly.
